I am honoured to be invited to be a panelist at the pitch session and another panel discussion at next week American Film Showcase. This is a film diplomacy program of the U.S. Department of State, produced by the USC School of Cinematic Arts.
Next week, they are producing a 5-day animation workshop in Luang Prabang, in collaboration with the U.S. Embassy Laos and the Luang Prabang Film Festival. They are hosting 16 animators and screenwriters, with 8 feature film animation projects, from Singapore, Laos, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines and Vietnam. The workshop will be led by producer Aron Warner (Shrek, Shrek 2, Book of Life) and visual development artist Arthur Fong (The Croods, Kung Fu Panda 3), and will focus on story development and pitching for animation.
On the last day of the workshop, they are hosting a pitch session, giving each of the teams an opportunity to formally present their projects and get feedback from professionals working in animation across Southeast Asia.
For those who are going, see you there.
I am really honoured to be invited to be a panelist at the pitch session and another panel discussion at the American Film Showcase.
